The splash pad project began in 2006 as a result of the Leadership Whitley County class. Two years later, on July 5th 2008, we were able to open the splash pad for the Columbia City community. A total of $220,000 was raised to make this project possible. One of the exciting features about the splash pad is that the area around it is completely handicapped accessible. Water wheelchairs are also available for anyone to use if they are interested. Contact the Parks Department for more information on how to get access to the water wheelchairs.
If anyone would like to make a donation to help cover the cost of the water usage, donations can be sent to: Columbia City Parks & Recreation (CCPR) 112 South Chauncey St., Columbia City, IN 46725
