Columbia City Tree Board
The Mission Statement: The Tree Board shall be responsible to study, investigate, develop, update annually, and oversee the administration of a written plan for the care, preservation, pruning, planting, re-planting, removal or disposition of trees and shrubs in parks, along streets and in other public areas.
The Board consists of seven volunteer members who are appointed by the Mayor and City Council.
• The Board meets every third Tuesday at 5:30pm in the conference room at City Hall. The meetings are open to the public.
• The Board was created by Ordinance 1992-26 and has been in existence for over 20 years. In almost every year since the creation of the board, the City has been designated a Tree City USA.
• The Board celebrates Arbor Day every year.
