The City of Columbia City offers a wide range of challenging career options, career advancement opportunities, and a dynamic work environment. Columbia City Police Department is accepting applications for Lateral and new applicants. We must receive your application by 4:00 pm on Monday December 26th. Salary is $61,000.

Benefits: Health, dental and eye insurance. Health savings account. City supplements $2000 towards your deductible of $3500 for family. Vacation/Personal/Sick time: You will receive 4 personal days a year. You will earn 1 sick day per month. Vacation is earned as follows: After 1 year of service – 5 days. After 2 years of service – 10 days (years 2 – 4). After 5 years of service – 15 days (years 5 – 9). After 10 years of service – 20 days (years 10 – 14). After 15 years of service – 25 days. We have a take home car program. Shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shift – .50/hour. Longevity Pay – $50.00 x years of service. Clothing allowance. Walk-in clinic (available to employee and immediate family). Paid Holidays (when holiday is worked). Schedule: 8-hour shifts 5/2 – 5/3 rotation

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and not older than 39 years of age.
Applicants must also possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, a valid Indiana Driver’s License, must pass a criminal background check, and pass a physical agility test and written test.

Physical Agility Standards : Each applicant will be required to perform, at a minimum, the following standards: Vertical Jump – 16 Inches, One Minute Sit-ups – 29, 300 Meter Run – 71 Seconds, Maximum Push-ups – 25, 1.5 Mile Run – 16 Minutes 28 Seconds

Each applicant will be required to perform an obstacle course including by not limited to a dummy drag and vehicle push.
