Below is a quote from a former CCHS football player (Buddy O’Dell) to his father about why he loves Football…

“Dad, it’s because in the history of mankind, there has never been a game which  requires such a broad range of people to work together to accomplish one common goal. There has never been a game which has so many strategies and tactics, that the fate of a season can lie in one single moment that is only ten seconds long. There is no other game which months and months of planning and preparation are prompted to change in the course of action on any given Friday night. There is no other game which can cause tears, both of the triumph victory or the heart wrenching plummet of defeat. Or simply just tears of brotherhood and camaraderie. No other game calls for so much effort, that physically and emotionally, one can only endure one game a week. Which sets the spot light for one night. One time to shine. And no other game gives you the opportunity to become legendary, whether that be in your own eyes or the ones around you. Its football dad! It’s the greatest game in the world!”
