The City of Columbia City (Indiana) has an opening for a full-time FIREFIGHTER.   Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at time of application and have not reached age 36 by the date of appointment,   must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and must be of high moral character and not have been convicted of a felony.  Applicants must be certified NFPA FFI/II and a state certified 1st responder or Emergency Medical Responder..   EMT Basic Certified preferred; however, must become certified within 1 year of employment  Applicants must also reside within Whitley County or a county adjacent.  Newly hired employees who do not meet the residency requirements have 90 days to move into the district.   Applications and a complete job description can be obtained at the Clerk-Treasurers office 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM Mon.-Friday or Communications (24 hours) both located at City Hall 112 S. The Columbia City Police Department is currently accepting applications to fill 2-3 positions for Full-Time Police Officer.

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and not older than 36 years of age.

Applicants must also possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, a valid Indiana Driver’s License, must pass a criminal background check, and pass a physical agility test and written test.
